I'm Not Going to Reach My Goal This Year

Hey friends,

We’re about midway through the year and I’m taking a hard look at my goals in writing and reading. I did kinda sorta maybe want to be started on another book draft this year, but L O L I’m not quite finished with the Agents & Books book draft yet. That’s ok. It’ll be done soon, and I am itching to write something else again, so maybe Q4 2024 will be the time. As for my reading goal, last year I read 100 books! It was so fun and satisfying! I was so proud of hitting that nice, round number.

But this year? Another L O L. It’s not looking good. If I don’t hustle, I might not even crack 50! That’s still roughly a book a week, which is still very, very good in the grand scheme of things, but still. I don’t want to look back at this year, at the chart I’m going to make in only a few, short months, and regret not reading more. Regret is my least favorite feeling of them all.
