Hello my friends,
To start, I just want to remind you that Simon Element is giving away FIFTY print copies of my book over on Goodreads! Check it out here! Ends on June 2nd. (US Only.) And you have just under three weeks left to get your preorder in at the Strand—and I’ll sign it for you!
Now, let’s answer some questions!
J asks: I have a question that's a little broad, but I'd love to hear your insight. Quite often, I see people on social media bemoaning the fact that New Adult isn't an official age category within traditional publishing. This tends to crop up when books get labelled as 'spicy' despite being YA with teenaged protagonists, which doesn't sit right with many people. In my opinion, there is an age range between 19-25 or so where the character's journey is more mature than YA but not quite full Adult yet. Of course, only a portion of readers are 'online,' so the discourse I hear might not be representative of a big enough demographic, but I can't help but wonder why publishing refuses to make NA a category despite folks crying out for it.
